Pfabe's Music offers private instruction in piano, guitar, percussion and most band & orchestra instruments including trumpet, low brass, clarinet, sax, flute, viola, violin, cello and string bass.

Ron Abrams (Sax, Flute, Clarinet)
Ron has been on the teaching staff at Pfabe's since 1992. He has a B.A. in Music Ed. from Kent State University and played with the 50th Continental Army Band. Ron has been a private woodwind teacher for over 30 years.
Jonathan Beveridge (Bass, Vocal, Rock n Roll School)
Arlyn Caral (Piano, Woodwinds)
Arlyn has been on the teaching staff at Pfabe's since 1992. She has a B.A. in Music Education from Southern Illinois University. Arlyn is currently a Music Education teacher in the Willoughby-Eastlake school system.

Cherie Gregory (Flute)
Cherie has been on the teaching staff at Pfabe's since 1997. She has a B.A. in Music Education from Kent State and has taught music at various public schools.
Dan Dimateo (Strings, guitar, piano)
Tena Kegg (Piano)
Tena joined the teaching staff in 2005. Her piano training includes Willoughby School of fine arts and Cleveland Fine Arts as well as private instruction. She has served as pianist at several area churches. Tena has been teaching over 7 years.
Pam Mariano (Piano)
Pam was added to the teaching staff in 2003. She studied piano and theory at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Pam has been teaching piano for 16 years and has been a professional musician since 1982.
Sarah Peters (strings)
Chris Rapier (French Horn)
Chris holds a B.M. degree from the University of Massachusetts with a concentration on French Horn Performance and Instrumental Music Education. He also teaches at Mercyhurst College ( Erie , PA ) and is the Principal horn for the Erie Philharmonic & Erie Chamber Orchestras. He also performs with Opera Cleveland, the West Virginia Symphony and the Canton Symphony.
Dale Rodgers (Guitar)
Dale began working in 2005. He has a B.A. from Ohio State ans has been teaching for over 10 years. Dale teaches many styles of guitar including folk, classical, jazz, and blues.
Larry Smith (Drums, Percussion)
Larry has over thirty years experience teaching, directing and arranging all genres of percussion and music. He has also been performing for the past thirty years on drums, percussion, guitar, keyboards and vocals. Previously, he was the Director of the Civic Jazz Orchestra and Director of Percussion Studies at Lakeland Community College. He is currently Director of Percussion Studies and Jazz at Cleveland Heights High School. He participates in The Lakeland Civic Band, directed by Charles Frank and performs with his ensembles The Larry Smith Express, The LS Jazz Express and Larry Smith's Lighter Side, as well as Tony Fortunato's Emperors of Swing Big Band.
Jeremy Sullivan (Drums, Percussion)
Jeremy has been on the teaching staff at Pfabe's for 4 years. He studied MusicEducation at Ashland, Cleveland State and Lakekand. He has played for several musicals. Jeremy has 9 years of private teaching experience.
Mike Vara (Sax, Flute, Clarinet)
Mike has been on the teaching staff at Pfabe's for over 18 years. He has a B.A. from Youngstown and a Masters in Music and Performance from Cleveland State. He has been teaching band in the Painsville Township School System for over 30 years.
Cheryl Ozinga (Piano)
Cheryl has been teaching piano to a wide variety of students for the past 20 years. She has performed solo work as well as accompaniment in a variety of venues, including church worship teams, choirs and ensembles. She has also accomanied student musicians for Solo & Ensemble judged events. It is her greatest joy to instill the love of music into the lives of young people.

Sue Helfrich (Oboe)
Lessons are scheduled as weekly 1/2-hour lessons in our in-store studios. Rates are $20 per lesson. A discount of $2.00 per lesson is available if the monthly tuition is paid in advance. For example, a typical 4-week month will cost $72.00. However, if the payment is received before the start of that month, the cost drops to $72.00.
Students are buying the instructors time. Therefore, cancellations must be received at least 24 hours in advance in order to be credited. Students should work with their instructors to schedule make-up lessons.
In the event of a teacher cancellation, either a make-up session may be scheduled or the lesson credit will carry-over.
